Together with his own family grappling with intense poverty, all the time indebted to their ruthless landlord, the unhappy twelve-year-antique boy, Zain, is compelled to fend for himself within the squalid and overcrowded slums of Beirut. Unable to save his 11-yr-old sister, Sahar, from an uneasy association, Zain will quickly find himself all alone in a faceless town, finishing up at a small leisure park to befriend any other misplaced soul: the Ethiopian cleanser and mom of one, Rahil. However, on this grim and adverse global, there's no room for dreamers--and as a frightening discovery is the last straw--a rabid desire for retribution possesses Zain and his blood-thirsty knife demands justice. Who is accountable whilst love will become hate, and life becomes an unendurable torment?
