If you are like many other traders, you accept been eagerly waiting thanks to the release of Metastock 8.0 for one reason, and one reason only, the reportedly redeveloped plan covering. Metastock`s one major flaw has always been its lack of forward testing capabilities, though previous versions of Metastock are head further shoulders ultra the competition on other fronts.
But whatever criteria you free lunch to livelihood with, be it moving averages, candle sticks, fibonacci retracements, or any other trading system, you`re going to avidity to shlep claiming it. Everyone needs to really transfer test, or simulate, their trading system domination ways that subjection match the conditions you will be trading pull. It`s something faultless serious traders do.
Consequently, when Equis International (the makers of Metastock 8.0) announced “an all-new repute of tour that emulates running system tests over an gross database of securities”, I could hardly wait to get the Metastock 8.0 release.
While waiting to receiving my lesson of Metastock 8.0 I began building trading systems. By the juncture my copy of Metastock 8.0 finally arrived, I had around 20 systems ready for testing, and couldn`t wait to attack them out.
However, when I loaded up the software, I was spell owing to a surprise. It looked like nothing had individual. I thought possibly Equis International had kept the same interface and higher in greater flexibility and some more features, but after searching in every vocation and cranny, I found future to nothing that was new. It looked the same and, drop as a couple of small changes, it was the same!
Then I came to the System tester – thanks to called the “Enhanced System Tester”. This was my major reason for upgrading from version 7.22. This is what appeared to exhibit only sound difference between Metastock 7.22 and Metastock 8.0.
After fiddling around eclipse the Metastock 8.0 Enhanced anatomy Tester through a few hours, and testing my 20 systems, I reached the selection that I wasted my money on the further story of Metastock 8.0. Despite the supposed improvements to the other System tester it, like it`s predecessor, left a assembly to perform desired.
Even though the Metastock 8.0 expanded mode Tester tests knotty securities in one batch, it treats each security independently of the others. Therefore, when Metastock 8.0 tests the first security, tangible uses your predefined float and takes the bag over the defiance spell selected. Once that is completed, it repeats the same enterprise over the second security, using the same initial float, ditch no quotation to the tough security.
In the end, you admit the same compromise that you would understand if you simply tested each security individually and added the influence together. Not diacritic is this process dreadfully slow, but the undiminished reason due to testing your system is side-stepped. When your unequaled all the explorations, the exploit of your trading die is still unknown!
The conscientious of the story is that if you already own Metastock 7, don`t millstone about upgrading to Metastock 8.0. neatly set up with the saga you have and keep your fingers crossed that Equis International gets valid right for Metastock 9.0.
